McLaren x TUMI expanded luggage range now available
TUMI and McLaren collaborate to reveal luxurious and lightweight travel luggage and accessoriesMcLaren owners and fans alike can now travel with a full collection of supercar-branded luggage, thanks to a continued partnership with TUMI that sees a new selection of gear added.
Announcing its debut collection earlier this year, the collab between the British Formula 1 team and TUMI, an international travel and lifestyle brand, initially consisted of the ‘Aero International Expandable 4 Wheel Carry-On’ and the ‘Quantum Duffel’. Finished with a hardshell case and moulded fabric front panel, the carry-on bag, with its supercar-influenced design is also made up of Tegris, a hard-wearing thermoplastic composite used in race cars.
And, the collab is still going strong, with nine new pieces now added to the range, including The Halo Backpack and an M-Tech Soft Satchel. Other new gear includes a utility pouch, a crossbody bag, passport cover and a folding card case.
Naturally, the McLaren x TUMI gear is made up of a hybrid of materials, including carbon fibre to ensure each piece is lightweight and of course, it wouldn’t have the McLaren name on it without hints of its signature papaya orange colourway.
McLaren Automotive design director, Rob Melville said the shared ethos of technical innovation, high-quality materials and cutting-edge design behind the TUMI and McLaren brands is what makes the collaboration such a natural fit.
“We both seek to elevate the customer experience through optimum performance. These additional pieces are all about making those moments of travel and reconnection, that we’ve all been yearning for, truly special.”
Meanwhile, TUMI’s creative director Victor Sanz said the companies’ shared goal is to give everyone an opportunity to engage with the collaboration.
“Following the success of our first drop with McLaren, we remain in everlasting pursuit of best-in-class design excellence. Our incredible journey as collaborators evolved as we explored ways in which we could further develop the collection,” he said.
“As a result, we purposely set out to ensure we were connecting with all levels of customers this season.”
