Toyota says technical changes to the HiLux's 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine have increased power by 6kW and made the engine compliant to Euro IV emissions standard.
The improved Toyota 1KD-FTV engine will be fitted to all HiLux 4x2 and 4x4 diesel models from August 2006 production. The SR-grade HiLux gets 15-inch wheels and body-coloured front bumpers, and the HiLux SR5 models have front foglamps and sports bumper.
The August production HiLux range also offers two new colours: 'Charcoal Grey' and 'Cascade Blue'.
ABS is offered as standard on SR5 models and an option for SR and WorkMate, and the limited-slip diff will be standard equipment on all Double Cab SR5 models and optional (packaged with ABS) on SR models.
The WorkMate and Double Cab SR-grade HiLux models get hard-wearing vinyl floor covering and a rear-seat centre headrest is offered for all Double Cab models. Toyota has also deleted the deck guard frame on all SR5-grade models, "to improve appearance".
Prices start at $29,590 for the 4x2 SR 3.0-litre turbodiesel.
