Mercedes-AMG Final Editions to see off V8 models

Here’s your chance to snag final biturbo V8-powered Mercedes-AMG C 63 and E 63 cars, for a price

Mercedes-Benz Australia will open the order book on February 1 for a “highly limited” number of special-edition versions of its 2023 Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupe and Cabriolet and E 63 S sedan, which bid farewell to their V8 twin-turbo engine ahead of a switch to four-cylinder hybrid power.

The trio, dubbed the Final Edition models, feature various cosmetic additions, upgraded brakes and AMG seats.

But they don’t come cheap, slapping up to $40,000 onto the price of the equivalent donor car.

The 2023 Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupe Final Edition is priced from $218,400 (+$28,400), the C 63 S Cabriolet version starts at $239,000 (+$26,400) and the E 63 S 4MATIC+ sedan climbs to $311,900 (+$39,900) – all before on-road costs.

All three Final Edition AMG scorchers are daubed with the unique MANUFAKTUR Graphite Grey magno exterior paintwork, with the C 63 models adding yellow and dark grey decals for extra razzle-dazzle.

The C 63 Final Editions also benefit from an exterior carbon package and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels with a unique cross-spoke pattern.

Aiming for a slightly more subtle appearance, the E 63 S Final Edition swaps out the yellow sticker pack for grey decals on the side skirts, but also features the exterior carbon pack and 20-inch AMG cross-spoke alloy wheels fore and aft along with multibeam LED headlights.

The three Final Edition models also get big-budget AMG ceramic front braking systems designed for hard-core racetrack punishment, while interior upgrades include AMG Performance front seats and an AMG Performance steering wheel with yellow highlights.

The C 63 S cabins are finished with dark aluminium and matte carbon-fibre highlights while the bigger E 63 S sedan features carbon trim throughout and adds extra equipment via the Driving Assistance Package and MBUX augmented reality navigation.

All models get a number of Final Edition logos and badges inside and out.

Mercedes-Benz has not specified the Australian allocation for the Final Edition cars, but they are expected to sell out quickly given they will be the last of their line packaged with AMG’s hand-assembled 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 450kW/850Nm in the all-wheel drive E 63 S four-door and 375kW/700Nm in the rear-drive C 63 S two-door twins.
