Mercedes-AMG has revealed the G 63 Two-Finish Edition for Australia, with just five examples allocated locally. The Finer Details

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Two-Finish Edition is distinguished by a two-tone black paint finish that combines non-metallic gloss black with MANUFAKTUR night black magno.

The bonnet, greenhouse and spare wheel cover are finished in gloss black, while the roof and lower body are painted in the matte finish. Mercedes-AMG says the finish is applied by hand at its Graz production facility in Austria, with only one Two-Finish vehicle completed through the paint shop each day.

The edition also includes the AMG Night Package II as standard, adding a dark chrome AMG grille, black exhaust system, black running boards and 22-inch forged alloy wheels.

Additional exterior changes include black door handles, a black spare wheel ring, black rear door lock cover and MANUFAKTUR logo projectors in the side mirrors.

Inside, the cabin features titanium grey pearl and black upholstery, AMG carbon-fibre trim, a carbon-fibre AMG Performance steering wheel and a two-tone nappa leather dashboard.

Each Australian example receives a bespoke passenger grab handle featuring silver "1 of 5" lettering.

Mechanical changes have not been made to the G 63 formula. Power continues to come from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 430kW and 850Nm, with Mercedes-AMG claiming a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.4 seconds.

The standard G 63's adaptive suspension, AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes and three locking differentials are also retained.

Equipment includes a 360-degree camera system with transparent bonnet view, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, Multibeam LED headlights, MBUX augmented reality navigation, wireless smartphone integration and a Burmester 3D sound system.

The Road Ahead

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Two-Finish Edition is available now, with only five vehicles earmarked for Australia.

It joins a growing number of MANUFAKTUR-enhanced Mercedes-Benz models and is expected to appeal to buyers seeking a rarer version of the AMG off-roader without mechanical changes to the standard G 63.
