The 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT SUV has been revealed, more than two years after carsales reported AMG was developing its own high-performance electric SUV, with the production version offering up to 860kW, three electric motors and a claimed WLTP range of up to 700km.
Three versions have been announced, the GT 53, GT 55 and GT 63, although Australian availability and pricing are yet to be confirmed.

The GT SUV is the second production model based on Mercedes-AMG’s dedicated AMG.EA electric architecture, following the new GT 4-Door Coupe.
The GT 63 and GT 55 each use three axial-flux electric motors, with two driving the rear axle and another at the front.
Outputs peak at 860kW and 2000Nm for the GT 63, while the GT 55 produces 600kW and 1860Nm.
Mercedes-AMG claims the GT 63 can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds, dropping to 2.5sec when measured with a one-foot rollout. Top speed is 270km/h with the Driver’s Package.

The GT 55 completes 0-100km/h in a claimed 3.1sec.
Entry to the range comes via the GT 53, which uses two synchronous electric motors producing a combined 400kW and 800Nm. It reaches 100km/h in a claimed 4.2sec.
All three use an 800-volt electrical architecture.
A 106kWh battery is standard in the GT 53, while GT 55 and GT 63 versions have a choice of 106kWh and 128kWh batteries.

Mercedes-AMG claims up to 668km of WLTP range for the GT 53. The GT 55 and GT 63 offer up to 585km from the smaller battery or 700km with the 128kWh unit.
Maximum DC charging power is listed at 600kW for the 106kWh battery and 710kW for the larger unit. Mercedes-AMG claims the latter can add up to 454km of WLTP range in 10 minutes.
Those charging and consumption figures remain preliminary.
The GT 63 also receives AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL+ suspension as standard, while it's optional on the GT 55. Air springs and hydraulically interconnected dampers are used to control pitch and body roll.

Rear-wheel steering is standard, with the rear wheels able to turn by up to six degrees opposite the fronts at speeds below 80km/h.
Depending on the variant, the SUV measures up to 5084mm long, 2001mm wide and 1656mm high, riding on a 3040mm wheelbase.
There are 607 litres of boot space with the back seats upright, expanding to 1740L when folded, plus a 78L storage compartment under the bonnet.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 53 SUV will be available to order in Europe from October 20, with the GT 55 and GT 63 following in the northern spring of 2027.
Australian availability has not yet been announced.
There is precedent for Mercedes-AMG bringing its new-generation AMG.EA models here. The related electric GT 4-Door Coupe has already been confirmed for Australia, most likely during 2027.
