Mercedes-AMG is going into the office chair-making business with a new line of performance seats available to European buyers.
If you're prepared to part with a considerable €3500 ($5,100 AUD), Mercedes-Benz will offer you the very same performance seat option currently available in their AMG vehicles for you to enjoy working from in your home office.
Releasing a video online to help publicise its new line of furniture, the video reveals how its latest office chair is almost identical to the pew offered in cars like the Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG S SUV.
Featuring an integrated headrest, heavily bolstered side cushions, the new office seats also come with the metal AMG logo. As standard, the chair is upholstered in Artico faux leather with Dinamica microfibre inserts with bright side stripes.
Like the car seat it's heavily based on, the AMG Office Seat features a manual backrest adjustment, rotating soft padded armrests that also adjust for width and height and, finally, there's an adjustable seat base and an extra under-thigh support.
Finally, like a regular office chair, there's height and tilt adjustment too.
With the release of the new armchair, Mercedes-AMG joins the ranks of the likes of Ferrari, Nissan, and automotive suppliers like Recaro, who all claim their years of experience of developing seats that provide both comfort and support for many hours spent behind the wheel, or desk.
The office chair joins a strong lineup of co-branded merchandise from the Mercedes-Benz and AMG family which includes prams, fragrances, golf bags, Monopoly game, pyjamas, and even a boat.
