One of Mercedes-Benz' most recognisable models, not to mention one of the most popular, is the mid-sized C-Class, and new spy photos taken in Germany suggest the luxury car maker is readying an updated model.
Captured by Carparazzi's photographers, these photos show the camouflaged model at the Nurburgring in Germany with mildly restyled headlights, plus a new front apron and bonnet.
First launched in 2007, the current W204 model has been around for more than three years now, making it ripe for a mid-life update before an all-new design arrives in 2014 (see second image for a preview).
As well as changes to the car's exterior style, trend-setters will be kept happy by the addition of new convenience features and a few expected tweaks to the interior design. Some of the technologies on offer will include the AGILITY Control Pack, the COMAND system with Linguatronic voice control and the NECK PRO safety system.
The timing of the updated Mercedes-Benz C-Class's launch will occur later in 2010, expected to happen months before the all-new BMW 3 Series and facelifted Audi A4, according to Carparazzi.
As is currently the case, several engine options will be on the table, with some power units likely to be tweaked. The C 220 CDI could come in for some mechanical love, while the hard-charging C 63 AMG's fuel efficiency might also be looked at.
