The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE line-up for Australia has emerged ahead of what carsales understands will be a December launch for the all-electric large luxury sedan.
According to federal government homologation documents, three Mercedes-Benz EQE models have received the green light for Australia – the EQE 300, EQE 350 4MATIC and EQE 53 4MATIC+.
Before now, only the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 – which carsales drove at its international launch in France recently – had been locked in for the Aussie market.
Mercedes-Benz Australia has not yet confirmed local launch details for the all-electric E-Class alternative, however carsales understands that all three models will touch down on Aussie soil before Christmas.
Pricing and official Australian-market specifications are expected soon.
A combination of local homologation details and international specs show that the EQE 300 opening the range will be powered by a single electric motor producing 180kW/550Nm and offering a WLTP driving range of up to 623km.
That long range comes courtesy of an 89kWh battery pack, while the single rear-axle-mounted electric motor propels the EQE 300 from 0-100km/h in a claimed 7.3 seconds.
Standard rolling stock will come in the form of 20-inch alloys wrapped in 255/40-series front and 285/35 rear tyres.
The EQE 350 MATIC adds an electric motor to the front axle for a twin-motor/all-wheel drive layout that produces a combined 215kW/765Nm and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in a claimed 6.3sec.
A slightly bigger 90.6kWh battery is also fitted to the EQE 350, enabling a driving range of up to 580km.
As per the EQE 300, the 350 4MATIC will roll on 20-inch wheels as standard, leaving room for the top-tier EQE 53 4MATIC+ to feature a performance-oriented 21-inch wheel-and-tyre combination with fatter 265/35 front and 295/30 rear rubber.
The flagship will dish out 460kW/950Nm from its dual-motor powertrain, resulting in a 3.5-second dash from 0-100km/h.
Drawing power from the same 90.6kWh battery pack as the EQE 350, its claimed driving range is 525km.
Standard equipment highlights across the range will include ambient lighting, ARTICO upholstery, tyre pressure monitoring, digital radio, digital cockpit and the latest MBUX infotainment system.
