Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia has today opened the order books for the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQV, with the battery-electric luxury people-mover priced from $155,338 plus on-road costs.
That places the all-electric seven-seater V-Class well upstream of the eight-seater Mercedes-Benz eVito Tourer, which is priced at $116,115 plus ORCs.
Just one variant of the EQV is available using a single-motor powertrain that produces 150kW of power and 365Nm of torque.
It draws current from a 90kWh battery pack stashed under the floor, offering an effective driving range of up to 418km.
The large-capacity battery can be charged at up to 110kW when using DC power, taking the battery from 10-80 per cent charge in about 45 minutes. That compares to 10 hours (0-100%) when charging from an 11kW AC wallbox.
A complimentary one-year Chargefox subscription is included in the price.
The EQV has a 2+2+3 seating layout as standard, with individual captain’s chairs used in the second.
Customers also have the (no-cost) option to order their EQV as a six-seater and replicate the captain’s chairs in the third row – a set-up the brand says makes the EQV perfect for airport transfers or as an executive shuttle.
Headline equipment on the EQV includes the MBUX infotainment system (accessed via a 10.25-inch screen and using voice command), satellite navigation, leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated front seats with memory function, a Burmester surround sound system, pre-entry climate control, four drive modes and even an automatic setting for the regenerative braking system.
The sliding side doors and tailgate also have electric assist.
Key safety gear includes active cruise control, a 360-degree camera, active parking assist, active brake assist, hill start assist, lane keeping assist, blind spot assist, crosswind assist, automatic headlights, a reversing camera and parking sensors.
Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia and New Zealand managing director Diane Tarr said the EQV’s prestige ambience, zero-emissions powertrain and minimal running costs meant it “offers all of the typical qualities of the brand and category that our customers expect, whether as a family car or a shuttle vehicle”.
The 2023 EQV is covered by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty for private buyers or five-years/250,000km when used in commercial applications.
