MG announces hybrid price cuts

MG Australia has announced a raft of pricing updates as part of a mid-year drive-away pricing campaign tipped to make electrified vehicles more ‘accessible’.

Effective from July 1, 2025 – and until further notice – new drive-away prices have been announced for plug-less hybrid versions of the MG3 hatchback, along with the ZS small SUV and inbound HS mid-size SUV.

The MG3 HYBRID+ now kicks off at $28,990 drive away for the entry-level Excite – usually $27,990 plus on-road costs – while the top-spec Essence is $31,990 drive away, or $29,990 (plus ORCs).

Meanwhile, the top-selling MG in Australia, the ZS compact SUV, has also become more affordable.

It’s also available in Excite or Essence forms, at $32,990 drive away and $34,990 drive away respectively.

In the next size up, drive-away pricing for the hybrid HS mid-size SUV has also been revealed. That model is now $42,990 drive away for the entry-level Excite, while the range-topping Essence is priced at $46,990 drive away.

Finally, pricing has dropped by as much as $2000 for the incoming HS Super Hybrid – a mid-size SUV fitted with the Chinese brand’s latest plug-in hybrid technology that is due here in September.

Available in two forms – Excite and Essence – the HS Super Hybrid range is priced at $50,990 drive away and $54,990 drive away respectively.

According to MG Australia CEO, Peter Ciao, the sharper prices will empower Australian drivers to upgrade to a more fuel-efficient vehicle.

“We hear from local drivers that value for them means innovation without compromise – at prices Australians can afford,” said Ciao.

“I want to see MG using our presence and technical leadership to make advanced solutions, like HYBRID+ and SUPER HYBRID, accessible to more Australians around the country. This means models suiting their lifestyle at every price point.”
