An updated MG ZS range for the 2019 model year has reached local showrooms, now offering standard satellite navigation in the flagship MG ZS Essence model and a new mid-spec trim level, the MG ZS Excite Plus.
The new variant is based on the entry-level MG ZS Excite, but swaps out the lower-priced car's 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine for the turbocharged 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that also powers the range-topping MG ZS Essence.
Engine output for the new variant is 82kW and 160Nm, and the three-cylinder powerplant drives through a six-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels.
Other than the powertrain, the MG ZS Excite Plus specification is aligned with the entry-level model's. Standard features include an eight-inch colour touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth with music streaming, six-speaker audio, cruise control, rear parking sensors, reversing camera, auto headlights, heated mirrors, leather-bound steering wheel, tyre pressure monitoring and six airbags (including full-length curtain airbags).
This new trim level is priced from $24,990 drive-away (inclusive of on-road costs).
The range-topping MG ZS Essence is additionally equipped with keyless starting and a panoramic sunroof with electric blind, and now gains the standard satellite navigation as well.
“We are thrilled to be bringing the MY19 models to our best-selling MG ZS range for our customers,” said Pavel Meck, Product Manager for MG Australia.
“We have taken our local customer feedback on board and have carefully considered this during the design process for the MG ZS 1.0T Excite Plus.”

MG ZS Excite Plus – $24,990 drive-away (including on-road costs)
