Inside the beautifully minimalist yet roomy cabin, experience comfort and spaciousness thanks to the Modular Scalable Platform – MG’s dedicated EV platform. On top of this, occupants are treated to comfortable, supportive seats with fabric trim, power windows, air conditioning, myriad power sockets (12V, USB-A and USB-C) to keep mobile devices topped up, and twin digital displays: a 7.0-inch virtual instrument in front of the driver and a 10.25-inch colour touch screen in the centre of the dash.  Staying connected is easy in the MG4 as the digital touch screen offers Bluetooth connectivity, DAB, FM radio and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

On the outside, the MG4 Excite 51 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with aero covers, has LED headlights, daytime running lights and taillamps, and is available in seven different colours: Dover White, Diamond Red, Sterling Silver, Brixton Blue, Camden Grey, Volcano Orange, and Black Pearl.

The MG4 Excite 51 is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 125kW of power and 250Nm of torque, which is enough to propel it from 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds.

Providing it with energy is a 51kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack housed under the car that delivers up to 350km of driving range and can be recharged via its Type 2 connector located in the car’s rear, left-side quarter panel. The battery can be charged between 10 to 80 per cent in around 37 minutes when using a 100kW DC rapid charging station or fully replenished via a MG Charge Hub (at 6.6kW) in around 7.5 hours.

MG4 Excite 64

If you’re after more peace of mind with your range, the MG4 Excite 64 has you covered.

It mirrors the Excite 51 in terms of the standard equipment, safety features and trim, but is fitted with a larger capacity 64kWh ternary that is both more efficient and allows for higher-voltage (up to 140kW maximum) charging.

As a result, the MG4 Excite 64, which costs from $44,990 (plus ORCs), delivers up to 450km of driving range and the battery can be replenished between 10 to 80 per cent in less than half an hour using a 150kW CCS Public Charger.

It also allows for the motor to produce more power (150kW), which reduces its 0 to 100km/h sprint down to 7.2 seconds.

MG4 Essence 64

Stepping up a level, the MG4 Essence 64 offers more with an elevated EV experience.

Priced from just $47,990 (plus ORCs), the higher-grade trim level elevates the MG4’s sense of luxury, while also bringing additional safety features, added conveniences and a sportier aesthetic to its exterior design.

MG4 Long Range 77

If you regularly travel beyond the city limits, the MG4 Long Range 77 provides even more driving range and security.

It matches the MG4 Essence 64 in terms of safety equipment, exterior features and creature comforts, but has a larger battery pack at 77kWh and upgrades to a Three Phase On-board Charger at 11kW, providing longer driving range and faster AC charging.

As a bonus, the bigger battery also unleashes more power from the electric motor, with the MG4 Long Range 77 producing 180kW of power and 350Nm of torque, lowering its ability to sprint from 0 to 100km/h to just 6.5 seconds – matching the best front-wheel drive hot hatches in terms of acceleration.

MG4 XPOWER

Want even more? The MG4 XPOWER delivers supercar levels of performance and driving thrills, all housed in a performance EV.

The range-topping MG4 model is the company’s first hot hatch in almost a quarter of a century, and the fastest and most powerful MG ever sold in Australia.

Priced from just $59,990 (plus ORCs), the MG4 XPOWER builds on the outstanding fundamentals of the Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) to create a high-performance hero that is tailor-made for driving enthusiasts.

Beyond its eye-watering acceleration, the MG4 XPOWER has been created for the corners too, with an upgraded chassis that includes revised suspension settings – lowered springs, retuned dampers and thicker anti-roll bars – as well as sharper steering and lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with sporty Bridgestone Turanza tyres.

Enhancing the mechanical set-up, the XPOWER is the first MG model to introduce the company’s all-new Dynamic Cornering Control System, which uses an electronically controlled limited-slip differential and Intelligent Motor Control to distribute torque effectively between all four wheels. This ensures optimum power is delivered to the wheels with the most grip for maximum traction in all conditions.

It also has upgraded brakes, with larger 345mm ventilated rotors on all four corners and XPOWER branded metallic calliper cover painted in contrasting orange, which reduce its stopping distance from 100 to 0km/h to just 33.9 metres.

On top of its performance credentials, the MG4 XPOWER features a host of elements that enhance its sporty character, including high-quality Alcantara interior trim, polished exterior accents, uniquely designed alloy wheels and the exclusive option of the iconic, new Hunter Green Satin colour.

To make it even more engaging to drive, the centre touchscreen is equipped with a specific Track Mode page that provides drivers with real-time performance data and timing for both track laps and point-to-point ‘stages’.

The MG4 XPOWER features the mid-level 64kWh battery pack that delivers a maximum driving range of up to 400km and can be recharged between 10 to 80 per cent in around 28 minutes on a 150kW DC rapid charger.

Transformer

The MG4 is not just an electric car. It can also be used as a portable power station.

All MG4 variants feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, which allows owners to utilise the battery’s energy storage for plug-in electric appliances or recharge portable devices in remote locations, or to provide electricity back to the grid when parked at home.

Charge Hub

Recharging the MG4 is made easy with the option to install the MG Charge Hub.

A low-impact personal charging solution, the Charge Hub is a stylish and convenient wall charger that can easily be installed in the garage at home or parking spaces at the office. This can drastically reduce the time it takes to recharge the battery when compared to using a household power point.
