Next-generation Michelin Pilot Sport performance tyre promises more grip and longer tread lifeThe next generation of the Michelin Pilot Sport family has arrived in Australia in the form of the new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 (PS5) – a tyre that promises more performance and longer tread life than its predecessor.
Michelin says the secret to the PS5’s progress is its dual-sided tread pattern, MaxTouch Construction and Dynamic Response technology which combine to better disperse water and maximise the tyre’s contact patch with the road.
“This new race-born tyre amplifies sport performance made to last, providing throughout its lifespan both driving dynamics with precision, as well as safety,” said Michelin Australia marketing manager, Hugo De-Boischevalier.
“It is a truly ideal tyre for those who need first-class experience, and look for aesthetic exclusivity.
“Inspired by motorsports, the tyre is perfect for drivers who demand sporty driving performance and expect nothing but the best.”
The PS5 will be offered in 42 configurations for wheel sizes spanning 17-inch through to 21-inch, and should spawn a variety of ultra-high-performance derivatives down the track.
