The Hyundai Staria people-mover and Staria Load commercial van have been given a mild update for the 2025 model year, bringing new convenience features for certain variants and a range-wide price increase of $500.
The mild price hikes mean the 2024 Hyundai Staria now starts from $49,500 plus on-road costs, while the 2024 Hyundai Staria Load opens at $46,740 plus ORCs.
Specifically, the extra cash brings 2D badging, extra USB-C ports and blind spot collision warning in place of the previously offered blind-spot collision-avoidance assist.
In addition, Staria Elite and Highlander and Staria Load Premium variants also nab Hyundai’s Bluelink connected services, rain-sensing wipers and next-generation key fob.
No other changes have been made anywhere in the range, either on the equipment list or the mechanical side of things.
As such, the base Staria continues to offer 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, an 8.0-inch infotainment system with smartphone mirroring, wireless smartphone charger, cloth upholstery, leather-clad steering wheel and adaptive cruise control, among other items.
The Elite adds powered side doors and tailgate, push-button and remote start, leather upholstery, power-adjustable driver’s seat, rear curtains, sliding second-row windows, climate control, sat-nav, digital radio, a 10.25-inch infotainment system and 360-degree camera.
The top-flight Highlander meantime nabs a dual sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, rear passenger camera, blind spot view monitor, LED interior lighting and two dashboard multi boxes.
Headline gear for the Staria Load van includes black cloth upholstery, leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear shifter, wireless phone charger, an 8.0-inch infotainment system with smartphone mirroring, keyless entry, multi-Bluetooth connectivity and 18-inch alloys.
The Staria Load Premium adds LED headlights and lightbar, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment system with sat-nav, push-button start, power tailgate, 360-degree camera, climate control and unique 17-inch hoops.
This particular version is also the only Load offered without the choice of a tailgate or barn rear doors.
All Staria Load vans are powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine outputting 130kW/430Nm and driving the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The same powertrain is fitted in the Staria people-mover, however, in that application it drives all four wheels and serves as the more premium alternative to the front-drive 3.5-litre V6 petrol (200kW/331Nm).
Hyundai Australia previously ruled the new Staria hybrid out for local release – at least in the short-term – and we’re yet to see the homologated but thus far unconfirmed front-drive diesel variant.
