MINI Australia has added a multi-tone roof option to its hatchback range, with all three- and five-door models – including the MINI Electric – now available with the quirky roof.
Every roof colour gradient will be ever so slightly different to the next, with MINI saying minor deviations in the colour pattern are due to changing environmental conditions.
The trio of colours – a combination of Pearly Aqua, San Marino Blue and Jet Black – are said to be applied using an innovative painting system fully integrated into the production process at the MINI plant in Oxford, England.
“We know our customers love that the MINI brand gives them the ability to express their own sense of fun and character, and the unique multi-tone roof will provide them an even better opportunity to turn up the style factor,” said MINI Australia boss Matt Schmidt.
“It is an especially eye-catching feature, especially in the sun, which is appropriate given the summer months are just around the corner.”
The tri-colour roof comes as a no-cost option with the MINI Yours package available on hatchback models, which adds around $7000 to the invoice.
The package brings a range of other features including unique 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, leather lounge sports seats, a head-up display, ambient interior lighting, anthracite headliner and more.
That said, the fancy roof isn’t available with just any exterior body colour.
MINI says for three- and five-door hatch petrol models, the roof can be optioned with the following colours: Pepper White, White Silver, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey or Island Blue. Meanwhile, MINI Electric variants need to be matched with a White Silver, Midnight Black or Moonwalk Grey paint finish.
