MINI has today announced the arrival of the Sterling Edition Countryman.
Limited to 40 examples nationally, the Sterling Edition is priced at $62,900 drive away – a circa $10,000 premium on the Cooper S Countryman on which it is based.
The Sterling Edition gets a bunch of extras befitting its price tag, including carbon black leather ‘lounge’ seats, an exclusive exterior colour (White Silver metallic) and 19-inch Britt spoke alloy wheels with Union Jack design.
Each one will also get a numbered Edition badge, silver stripe detailing on the bonnet, illuminated piano black interior trim, a blacked-out roof and side mirrors and a panoramic sunroof.
Also shared from the Cooper S Countryman is the Sterling Edition’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch, good for 141kW/280Nm and a 7.5 second sprint to 100km/h from a standstill.
Standard features include an 8.8-inch infotainment screen with navigation, digital radio and wireless Apple CarPlay, LED headlights and fog lights and heated side mirrors.
Safety features including front and rear parking sensors, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, reverse camera, forward collision warning and speed sign recognition are also standard.
“With refined and elegant detailing including limited edition badging, a new eye-catching metallic finish along with the MINI performance and personality that we all love, this is a vehicle that fans will not want to miss out on,” said Brett Waudby, MINI Australia general manager.
