The MINI Challenge one-make series resumes at Wakefield Park in NSW this weekend.
Following the opening round at Eastern Creek last month, the series is led by Neil McFadyen on 168 points, just six ahead of Paul Stokell and 12 ahead of part-time TV presenter and V8 Supercar driver, Grant Denyer.
Highlights from the Eastern Creek event included some nasty rubbing of door handles between drivers Gary Young, Iain Sherrin, Michael Stillwell and Ricky Occhipinti (pictured).
Spectators will be looking forward to more of the same and -- the MINI Challenge being a one make series -- it's bound to happen.
"Eastern Creek probably wasn't as good as it could have been, backing up between the two categories certainly affected my performance in both," said Young, who is currently placed 7th in the series rankings.
"This weekend, I'm concentrating totally on MINI CHALLENGE to give myself more of a chance. I've won at Wakefield in the past and know the track well, but there's some tough competition, so I hope to be right in there and mixing it up!"
The Seven Network will televise highlights of the Eastern Creek round on Saturday at 1:30pm. For the Wakefield Park event, there'll be two practice sessions and a qualifier on Friday, one heat on Saturday and two more on Sunday. Seven will broadcast this weekend's event on April 26 at 2:00pm.
