MINI has launched another special-edition based on its Countryman crossover, this time taking styling cues from the marque’s motorsport division.
Priced from $47,500 drive-away, the MINI Cooper Countryman Stafford Edition gains a John Cooper Works exterior styling pack, 18-inch JCW alloy wheels, carbon black sports seats, a piano black interior and anthracite headlining.
The Stafford Edition treatment is also available for hotter Cooper S versions of the Countryman, priced at $54,900 drive-away.
The MINI Cooper S Countryman Stafford Edition gets the same gear as the aforementioned Countryman, plus a panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker Harman Kardon Hi-Fi sound system, Climate Package and Sun Protection glazing.
Both special-edition models can also be had with four metallic colour options: Midnight Black, Light White, Chili Red and Island Blue.
Turbo-petrol powertrains are unchanged, meaning the same 100kW/220Nm 1.5-litre three-cylinder for the Cooper Countryman and a 141kW/280Nm 2.0-litre four-pot for the Cooper S Countryman – both in front-wheel drive configuration.
Along with the special-edition model, the British car-maker is rolling out an online configurator and deposit process to make is easier for customers to choose their new vehicle at home.
Regular MINI Cooper Countryman prices start from $42,200 plus on-road costs and top out at $65,900 (plus ORCs) for top-spec JCW variants.
The manufacturer also recently introduced its first electrified model – a plug-in hybrid version of the Countryman.
