MINI Coupé, Roadster pricing announced
Pricing revealed for MINI's sporty set of two ahead of a February debutAhead of their February launch, MINI Australia has today announced pricing for its helmet-headed Coupe and radical Roadster models.
Each are available in two trim levels – Cooper S and John Cooper Works – with hardtop models priced from $45,500 and $55,100 respectively and convertible models from $48,010 and $57,600 respectively.
Like the familiar Cooper S hatch, the terrible twins are powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 135kW/260Nm in Cooper S trim. Fuel economy is rated at 6.4L/100km and CO2 emissions just 149g/km. 0-100km/h is knocked over in just 7.0 seconds on its way to a top speed of 227km/h.
Stepping up to the JCW-enhanced variants we find a modified version of the same engine outputting 155kW/280Nm for a 0-100km/h time of just 6.5 seconds.
Fuel economy is rated at an equally impressive 7.3L/100km and CO2 emissions of 169g/km.
Both models feature a traditional ‘three-box’ design with Roadster models utilising a manually-operated black cloth roof. The pair also feature a automatic rear spoiler which automatically deploys at speeds in excess of 80km/h.
The feature list extends to 17-inch alloy wheels, park distance control, xenon headlamps, leather-bound steering wheel, climate control air conditioning and MINI Boost CD/tuner with Bluetooth telephony.
JCW variants add sports suspension, an aerodynamic body kit, body stripes and a Harmon Kardon premium HiFi system.
“Although created from the same MINI DNA, these hot twins take Go-Kart driving thrills to a whole new level,” said MINI Australia General Manager, Kai Bruesewitz.
The new MINI Coupe and Roadster will arrive in local showrooms from late February.
