Instead the latest short film, entitled "Charged with Passion", gives a short glimpse of the actual production MINI Electric Cooper SE, alongside shorts of the original classic Mini.
When we do see the battery powered MINI, that's set to be marketed as the world's first pure-electric hot hatch, the zero-emission model looks almost identical to the current hatchback, aside from an additional plug-in point where you'd normally add fuel.
According to the British car-maker, full details will be released next month, along with the MINI Electric's official unveiling but the BMW-owned brand has already announced that production will begin at the car-maker's Oxford plant with global sales of the zero-emission hatch to begin shortly after.
Cutting costs, the little MINI Electric will share its single motor, lithium-ion battery back and inverters with the current BMW i3.
Expect a range of around 300-400km.
As far as power concerns, if MINI is to deliver on its promise that the battery-powered Cooper SE will be the world's first pure-electric hot hatch, we expect it to be fitted with the same single electric motor as the BMW i3 S that musters 135kW/270Nm.
That should easily ensure the little MINI Electric hits 100km/h in less than 7.0 seconds.
More teases are expected before the MINI's official unveiling in July.
