MINI has announced it will soon offer a range of John Cooper Works performance accessories for the latest F56-series MINI hatch.
Unveiled at the 2016 Essen motor show in Germany, the dealer-fit accessories include upgrades to the engine, suspension, brakes, aerodynamics and interior.
Not all MINIs in the range are treated to a power upgrade.
The MINI John Cooper Works 170kW/320Nm 2.0-litre turbo, for example, remains untouched, but there is now the option of a JCW exhaust valve silencer system. The tweak, fitted to the John Cooper Works standard sports exhaust, is said to enrich the standard car's soundtrack.
As well as the louder exhaust, owners of the flagship John Cooper Works hatch will also soon be able to option a height-adjustable coil-over suspension that varies ride height between 10mm to 30mm.
Lower down in the range, owners of the Cooper S model, whether it's a three-door, five-door or convertible, can now opt for the JCW tuning and styling kits.
The JCW power upgrade raises the Cooper S’ power from 141kW to a more generous 155kW.
JCW accessories will also offer the valve exhaust silencer on the Cooper S and a new lightweight 18-inch wheel option.
Bigger brakes are now an option on the Cooper S that replaces the standard brakes for new four-piston fixed callipers and grooved discs up front and single-piston floating callipers on the rear axle. The more powerful callipers are painted red.
As well as the mechanical upgrades, the new JCW accessories introduce a new aero kit that adds spoilers and front and rear apron, mirror caps and a carbon-fibre air inlet cover. There's also a range of stickers and stripes, plus the extra option of a track mount for GoPro cameras.
Inside, it's now possible to option a JCW leather sports steering wheel, gearshift lever and all manner of JCW trinkets from mats to key rings.
MINI hasn't released pricing or performance figures for the new JCW accessories but says the new products will be available from your local dealer, or online, soon.
