COMING SOON: Porsche 911 Turbo S

Quickest, fastest and most powerful 911 Turbo ever slams down some gob-smacking performance figures

As the new performance flagship of the latest 992-series 911 range – at least until the next GT2 RS surfaces – the 2020 Porsche 911 Turbo S packs a 478kW punch and can accelerate to 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds on its way to a 300km/h top speed.

Stamping it firmly in supercar territory, its all-new 650hp 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six that brings 51kW more power and 50Nm more torque (now 800Nm) than model it replaces.

The key here are bigger turbochargers and a new injection system, but there’s also a new all-wheel-drive system that can channel as much as 500Nm to the front wheels but remains rear-biased most of the time.

Completing a package that arrives in Australia in coupe and cabriolet form in the second half of 2020 priced from $473,900 is a new eight-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic, even wider bodywork with active aerodynamics and 18-way adjustable sports seats as standard.
