Mercedes-Benz has released a new teaser overnight of its next-generation Mercedes CLA ahead of the car's reveal at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Posting the latest video on its Facebook page, the short film shows off the stylish four-door coupe's striking new design, giving close-ups of the headlamps, tail lights and dashboard but not quite the whole of the 2019 Mercedes CLA.
The latest tease follows another glimpse of the interior posted on Mercedes' social media channels last week that revealed the new Mercedes CLA would come with an advanced gesture-based ambient interior lighting system.
Working in cooperation with the German car-maker's MBUX infotainment system, first introduced on the recently launched A-Class, the small swoopy sedan is likely to offer levels of connectivity and tech that will shame many large luxury cars when it's introduced in Europe in the second quarter of 2019.
Since it shares its platform and infotainment system with the small A-Class hatch, there's nothing to suggest the next CLA won't share its engines and transmissions -- including the sportiest turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that, under the bonnet of the A 35 4MATIC, produces a healthy 225kW and a mighty 310kW in the forthcoming A 45 hyper hatch.
Offered alongside a traditional A-Class sedan – created to major in space, rather than style – the sportier CLA is set to go on sale in the second quarter of 2019 in Europe.
Just six months later, Mercedes will launch a replacement for the current CLA Shooting Brake.
Both are expected to arrive Down Under late in 2019.
We expect another tease of the new CLA before its January 8 debut in Las Vegas at CES.
