Subaru has launched a special edition variant of its popular Outback all-wheel drive wagon.

Dubbed the Outback 2.5i Luxury, according to Subaru, the special edition features more than $4400-worth of extra value for just a $1000 increase over the recommended retail price of standard Outback 2.5i.

The extra equipment includes power front seats, leather trim and tinted rear windows.

Subaru says just 500 All-Wheel Drive Outback 2.5i Luxury variants will be available in a mix of auto and manual models. Two colour combinations will be offered -- white with grey leather, or green mica with ivory leather.

The Outback 2.5i Luxury manual has a recommended retail price of $38,990. The auto is $41,490.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: “This is the latest in a series of first quarter Subaru special editions.

“The additional specification is worth considerably more than the $1000 premium and represents remarkable value on a car that is already renowned for its comprehensive inclusions,” he said.
