More power for 2025 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and GTS

Flagship sedans emerge with twin-turbo V8, get more performance, high-tech cabin and new styling

The flagships of the third-generation Porsche Panamera range have been revealed, and the 2025 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and 2025 Porsche Panamera GTS will be released in Europe and Australia in late 2024.

Packing a barn-storming 575kW plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain, the top-shelf new Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will be the most powerful Panamera ever, while the new Panamera GTS is set to deliver a new dynamic benchmark.

The range-topping Turbo S E-Hybrid recently grabbed headlines by setting a new luxury-car lap record at the Nurburgring.

Powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 that pushes out 441kW on its own, the most powerful Panamera hybrid adds a 140kW electric motor within the transmission to raise total output to an incredible 575kW/1000Nm – 75kW/150Nm more than before.

Now claimed to be capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h just 2.9 seconds (-0.5sec) and maxing out at 325km/h (+25km/h), the new Turbo S E-Hybrid brings a significant step-up in performance over the model it replaces.

Efficiency has also been enhanced for the new hybrid flagship, with the 25.9kWh battery said to store 45 per cent more energy than before, enabling it to deliver a WLTP-verified electric range of up to 88km.

The petrol-electric powertrain is also better at clawing back energy, and is said to be capable of recovering power up to a rate of 88kW.

Charging using the on-board 11kW AC charger is claimed to take two hours and 39 minutes for a full 0-100 per cent fill.

Compared to its lesser Panamera siblings, the Turbo S E-Hybrid gets a new rear bumper, revised front-end and chrome-plated exhaust outlets finished in dark bronze.

As standard, the quickest-ever Panamera gets Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) with yellow callipers. Acid Green is also available.

Other changes include front air blades and a rear bumper strip painted in Turbonite – a metallic grey colour that also reappears ibn the cabin, on the centre console, steering wheel, seat stitching, door trim, dash and mats. The roof lining, meanwhile, is finished in suede-like Race-Tex.

The Turbo S E-Hybrid rides on large 21-inch centre-lock alloy wheels as standard.

New options include a carbon-fibre aero kit and stickier, track-focused Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. The former adds revised air blades, side skirts and a rear diffuser – all made out of the lightweight composite and complimented by an adaptive four-way rear spoiler.

Tick the box for the aero upgrades and at 200km/h the spoilers are said to generate 60kg of down force.

Improving handling at standard, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid gets Porsche’s advanced Active Ride suspension, which employs 400-volt electronics to control the dampers, managing rebound and compression to keep the body horizontal even under hard braking or acceleration.

Rear-wheel steering and a powerful Bose sound system are both standard.

Moving on to the 2025 Porsche Panamera GTS, the German brand says its third-gen GTS has been developed to be its most agile sedan ever.

Like its bigger brother, there’s a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 under the bonnet that kicks out an extra 15kW, with total power output rising to a healthy 368kW.

Against the clock, the GTS can launch from 0-100km/h in just 3.8sec before topping out at 300km/h, says Porsche.

New for the GTS is a dual-chamber two-valve air suspension that is combined with new adaptive dampers and sees the sportiest Panamera sit 10mm lower than standard.

Revised anti-roll bars and a lower spring rate are said to deliver a more direct driving experience and better body control with less pitch and roll.

Despite the stiffer set-up, Porsche says there’s been no reduction in comfort.

Once again there are black GTS logos on the side and rear of the car, while dark-tinted HD matrix LED headlights and tail-lights, plus red callipers all help the sportiest Panamera be easily identified.

A standard Sport pack applies a satin-matte black finish to body trim elements like the side skirts, window surrounds and rear bumper inserts.

The tailpipes are also finished in dark bronze, while the large 21-inch centre-lock Turbo S wheels are painted Anthracite Grey.

Inside, there’s liberal use of Race-Tex fake suede on the roof lining, arm rest, door cards and centre panels of the adaptive 180-way sport seats.

Buyers have the choice of either red or grey for the belts and stitching, while a new carbon-matte trim is an option.

As standard, the GTS comes with the Bose sound system and a Sport Chrono pack with stopwatch, plus a push-to-pass button.

While the Porsche Panamera GTS is available only with the standard wheelbase, the new Turbo S E-Hybrid gets the option of a long-wheelbase Executive body.

Additional standard equipment for the 2025 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and GTS will include privacy glass, panoramic roof system, lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, 3D Surround View with Active Parking Support, ioniser including carbon fine dust sensor, front seat ventilation, rear side airbags, soft-close doors, four-zone climate control and digital radio.

The 2025 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid has been priced at $486,100 plus on-road costs, and the new GTS at $340,600 plus ORCs.
