Ford will soon offer a new engine performance upgrade for the Ford Focus ST that raises power from 184kW/345Nm to 202kW/400Nm.
The kit, made by Ford-approved tuners Mountune introduces a larger alloy intercooler, low-loss cast crossover duct with a high-flow air filter plus a new ECU map.
Ford hasn't revealed how much quicker the Mountune’s Focus is, but it’s expected to shave a few tenths off the standard car’s 6.5 seconds 0-100km/h time. Top speed, meanwhile, is expected to remain pegged at 250km/h.
The kit, which takes just two hours to fit, costs $2400 and does not affect Focus’ vehicle warranty.
It’s not known whether Ford Australia will offer the new Mountune performance upgrades here but the local arm is believed to be considering performance upgrades for both the Focus ST and forthcoming Mustang that arrives next month.
