More safety tech and gear for 2024 Skoda range

But the upgrades come at a cost for most models

First examples of Skoda’s updated 2024 model year line-up have started trickling into local showrooms with a new level of safety equipment and revised pricing to match.

As reported by carsales back in July, the MY24 upgrade sees the entirety of Skoda’s Australian product portfolio score Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert as standard, as well as a couple of other model- and variant-specific equipment tweaks.

Prices have of course been tweaked to match the longer kit lists, with increases of up to $1700 being applied depending on the model and variant. See the full price list below, including national drive-away price increases.

Starting at the bottom of the pricing hierarchy, the Skoda Scala hatch now starts from $33,590 (+$800) plus on-road costs in base Ambition form, while the higher-specced Signature has risen by $1100 to $42,090 plus ORCs on account of its new powered tailgate.

The same features have been added to the base Skoda Kamiq Style 85TSI but for no extra cost to consumers ($35,490 plus ORCs) – unlike the mid-range Monte Carlo and flagship Signature that now start from $41,690 (+$1700) and $43,090 (+$1100) plus ORCs respectively.

“An imminent announcement will be made confirming a value-packed additional Kamiq grade delivering an even more attainable price position with the same level of active safety technology as the Style 85TSI,” a Skoda Australia spokesperson said.

The addition of Park Assist, Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, power child locks and an auto-dimming driver’s exterior mirror has pushed the 2024 Skoda Octavia Style liftback beyond the $40,000 mark to $40,590 (+$1300) plus on-roads.

Tweaks have also been made to the Octavia Style’s options list, with the previously separate Tech and Luxury Packs being consolidated into one ($5200), combining everything from both packs minus a head-up display and Dynamic Chassis Control.

The hotter Octavia RS liftback meantime has risen by $600 to $52,590 plus ORCs due to it now coming with Park Assist and power child locks, while the optional Premium pack ($6600) now features a Canton premium sound system.

Skoda Octavia RS

Back in SUV-land, pricing for the 2024 Skoda Karoq Style has risen by $1500 to $44,590 plus ORCs on account of the new kit mentioned above as well as now-standard Lane Assist, with the same mark-up being applied to the gruntier Sportline (now from $51,290 plus ORCs).

But $200 has been shaved off the respective Tech and Premium packs, which now both retail for $5700 alongside a new $4700 Leather Seats pack for the Style.

As for the flagship Kodiaq, which is about to be replaced, the base Style now starts from $53,290 plus ORCs (+$1400), while the flashier Sportline stays put at $57,790 and both now feature Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, auto-dimming exterior mirrors and power child locks.

Skoda Kodiaq RS

All these features as well as a Canton premium audio system have been added to the kit list of the flagship Kodiaq RS and reflected by a $1300 price rise (to $70,590 plus ORCs).

“Canton audio is also added to the optional Tech packs for both the Kodiaq Style and Sportline at an additional $3000 and $2900 respectively,” said the Skoda spokesperson.

Skoda Australia has confirmed no spec or pricing changes have been made to the Polo and Superb models for the 2024 model year.
