Motorclassica for 2016 is set to be more exciting than ever after announcing that its official ambassador this year will be none other than Chad McQueen.
The son of movie star and automotive cult hero, Steve McQueen, Chad will be headed down under in October to be the face of the car and motorcycle show at Melbourne's Royal Exhibition Building.
McQueen will lead the event's annual 'Tour Classica' prologue, this year sponsored by Tag Heuer, which sees 70 cars and bikes parade through the streets of Melbourne's CBD before finishing at the historic site of Australia's first parliament.
McQueen will be present throughout the weekend, meeting and greeting fans, engaging with the media and participating in the event's formalities.
TAG Heuer, Official Timekeeper and Watch of Motorclassica, along with McQueen, will also be introducing a special feature for the 2016 event; a retrospective of his famous father's cinematic catalogue. And an exhibition by the watchmaker will celebrate the company's long involvement in motor sport competition.
TAG Heuer's General Manager for Australasia, Pierre Blouin, said: "TAG Heuer is delighted to be the Official Watch & Official Timekeeper of Motorclassica 2016."
"TAG Heuer's rich history in motorsport could not be more fitting for Motorclassica. As Australia's premier automotive event, the partnership will showcase a strong connection between TAG Heuer's heritage and a passionate audience of classic car enthusiasts."
Chad McQueen follows a long list of automotive royalty who have previously attended Motorclassica, including Sir Jack Brabham, Sir Stirling Moss, Derek Bell, Valentino Balboni and Gina Campbell.
Motorclassica will take place at the Royal Exhibition Centre from Friday the 21st of October to Sunday the 23rd of October.
