MOTORSPORT: Supercars field set for 2021

Full grid of 24 drivers locked in for Australia’s premier motorsport category

The top spot in Supercars is up for grabs as a full field of 24 drivers looks to fill the void left by Scott McLaughlin in 2021.

As the triple champion steps up to IndyCar racing in the USA, only four teams have unchanged driver line-ups ahead of the coming season.

Even McLaughlin’s outfit, Shell V-Power Racing, is all change with Will Davison and Anton de Pasquale taking over a pair of Ford Mustangs under the umbrella of Dick Johnson Racing following Roger Penske’s retreat from Australian motorsport.

The final places on the grid this year have been taken by David Reynolds, who switched from Erebus to the re-named and re-financed Kelly-Grove Racing, and Garry Jacobson, who joins Fabian Coulthard after a clean-out at Team Sydney.

The start of the Supercars season will now see teams splitting their test days between Queensland Raceway and Winton in Victoria, as a result of COVID-19 restrictions affecting Sydney Motorsport Park.

Racing will resume with the Bathurst 500, comprising a pair of 250km sprints, on the final weekend in February.

This is the way the field looks for 2021:
