F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo’s smile will be twice as big at the end of this Formula One season.
And not just because he might have added another Grand Prix win or two to the three he’s already scored in an outstanding first season with Red Bull Racing.
Even when he’s racing the world will see just how big Ricciardo’s smiling face.
At the season-ending GP, in Abu Dhabi on November 21-23, Ricciardo’s helmet will be adorned with a cartoon image of the 25-year-old West Australian’s smile that the world has quickly come to know as his trademark.
Red Bull in Italy ran a competition for fans to design Ricciardo’s helmet for the last race of this year’s world championship finale, and it was this caricature by Andrea Menardo that was chosen.
“Looks great!” Ricciardo said when he tweeted the winning image.
His helmet already carries a Honey Badger, supposedly the most fearless creature in the animal kingdom, and the addition of this caricature can only add to Ricciardo’s reputation as the smiling assassin who slayed four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel in their sole season as teammates.
