Mulholland Legend 480 unleashed
Brutish lightweight V8 the work of F1 engineering firm, created to be true spiritual successor to the TVR TuscanBritish F1 engineering firm, The Mulholland Group, has announced that it is branching out into car-making by releasing pics of the new supercar it plans to make.
Named the Mulholland Legend 480, the first road car from the UK-based engineering firm that specialises in ultra-lightweight composites has been created to be a "super-lightweight V8-powered machine" that is a "pure drivers' car", says the company.
There's no word yet where the company plans to source its V8 from, but it's thought a Cosworth-developed Ford engine is likely. Mulholland says that within the front engine bay of the Legend it will produce 480hp (356kW) and will be combined with a manual transmission.
Created to be a modern day take on a TVR Tuscan, the Mulholland Legend is set to benefit from its parent's carbon-fibre expertise, with both the monocoque chassis and body panels made from the ultra-lightweight material.
Designed by former TVR design boss, Damian McTaggart, the Legend blends its imposing front-end and curvaceous body with a rear-end that looks inspired by the Shelby Daytona Coupe.
Set for a launch later this year, Mulholland says the Legend 480 will be followed shortly after by three more vehicles.
There's no word on pricing, or whether or not exports are planned, but the Legend 480 should be far more technologically advanced than the Tuscan that inspired it, according to Mulholland boss and ex-TVR owner Graham Mulholland, who claims his first car will benefit from advanced manufacturing know-how and a world-class supply chain.
