On the eve of Ford Falcon’s last Bathurst, Ford Australia is revving up the faithful.
Posted earlier today on Ford Australia’s Facebook page is an image that purports to be the Supercar version of the Ford Mustang set to make its track debut in 2019.
But motoring.com.au has confirmed all is not what it seems. While the teaser looks real enough, internal Ford Australia sources have confirmed the image is a CGI render -- not the real thing.
The ‘leak’ has already kicked off speculation that the Mustang Supercar racer would make an appearance at this weekend’s Bathurst 1000.

Ford Australia has denied that will be the case, instead the manufacturer’s activities will focus on other models.
Indeed, Ford is planning a significant send off for Falcon, with key historic Fords headed for the Mt Panorama circuit.
The weekend will also see US-based Aussie Ryan Briscoe hot lap the Le Mans 24 Hour winning Ford GT GTLM racer.
And there’s one more Blue Oval surprise in store… But we’ll leave you guessing on that one for now…
