Mustang to star in Sydney for New Year's Eve

Ford named as associated partner for Sydney's New Year's Eve celebrations
Ford has stolen a march on its competitors, buying a spot to promote its new Mustang in the upcoming New Year's Eve celebrations in Sydney.
According to press material provided by the company, the iconic pony car will 'host' the event's "first ever soundtrack" for the crowd ringing in the new year. And the Mustang will be putting in a "surprise appearance" related to the harbour bridge – the centrepiece of Sydney's NYE partying each year. At a concert stage under the bridge, the Mustang will be placed in very close proximity to the 'waterfall' fireworks display for which the bridge is well known.
"We are sending a message that Ford has an exciting future in Australia with a great line-up of new vehicles, including the re-introduction of Mustang, which is going global after 50 years as America's greatest motoring icon," Bob Graziano, Ford Australia President was quoted saying in the company's press release.
"We could not take the all-new Mustang any higher, so now we will give the world a view never seen from a car of Sydney's spectacular New Year's Eve fireworks."
The east coast of Australia is one of the first places in the world to usher in each new year – and Sydney is a consistent highwater mark for new year's eve celebrations. Media outlets across the globe feature the Sydney event in their wrap-up of partying in other nations, which is a point not lost on Ford and its president.
"The theme for  2014 Sydney New Year's Eve is 'Inspire,' which is a perfect fit for the future of our brand – especially with the arrival of Mustang as people see the car as a way to explore their dreams and the freedom of the open road," said Graziano.
"Sydney is one of the first major cities to ring in the New Year so we want to help the city make the event even more memorable."
As an 'associate partner' for the event, Ford is offering three winners tickets to an exclusive fireworks viewing area. Visitors to Ford's local Facebook page can enter by uploading a photo from their "most adventurous New Year's resolutions" prior to December 18. A grand prize winner will also be offered an opportunity to live out his or her adventurous resolution.
Festivities will be broadcast on social media via #FordNYE and #SydNYE.
