Navara re-tested by Euro NCAP

Nissan has responded to a below-standard safety rating for the Navara

The Nissan Navara has undergone a reassessment of its crash safety under the Euro NCAP testing regime to post a three-star score for adult protection.

The revised safety rating was the result of Nissan tweaking the airbag control unit software. A previous test had highlighted a delay in the airbag deploying, keeping the Navara's safety rating lower than expected.

Nissan has introduced the revised software to all Navaras built from December 2007 and owners of vehicles built between 2005 and December '07 will be requested to attend Nissan Australia dealers for the vehicles to be upgraded retrospectively, with the new software.
