The 2023 Audi Q6 e-tron has been officially teased in full camouflage ahead of its unveiling later this year.
Just one of the 20 new models Audi has committed to introducing by 2025, the all-new Audi Q6 is teased here in near production-ready prototype form undergoing cold weather testing.
The all-new mid-size electric SUV – confirmed to be the first model to be based on the Volkswagen Group's next-generation Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture – is being co-developed alongside the new Porsche Macan and both models will bring an 800-volt electrical system offering faster charging than any current Audi, Volkswagen or Skoda EVs.
Set to be available in both traditional SUV wagon and more rakish Sportback body styles, the new Audi Q6 could boast a dual-electric powertrain that will pump out as much as 450kW of power and 1000Nm of torque.
Under their exterior skins, the new Q6 and Macan could share even more in common than the closely related Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT sister models because of cost pressures.
Disguising a design that makes it look like a grown-up Audi Q4 e-tron, the camouflage can't hide the Audi’s EV-specific styling cues including a solid grille, aero wheel covers and smoother bumpers than combustion-powered Audi SUVs like the Q5.
Up front there's pair of striking split headlights, while at the rear there are two slimline tail-lights and a subtle tailgate spoiler. Audi hasn't released images of the sportier Sportback yet.
Audi is yet to announce when it will officially unwrap the Q6 e-tron, but it's thought the unveiling will be in the coming months – ahead of first customer deliveries in early 2024.
There's no word yet on whether the Audi Q6 e-tron SUV and Sportback will be sold Down Under, but it’s a safe bet.
