The 2024 Porsche Cayenne GTS has emerged in Europe – in both regular SUV and Coupe guise – ahead of its Australian arrival in the third quarter of this year.
Local pricing has also been confirmed, starting from $209,600 for the Cayenne GTS SUV and $212,600 for the GTS Coupe (both plus on-road costs).
Those prices mark relatively modest increases (less than $3000) over the previous equivalent GTS models, which is impressive given the extensive mid-life overhaul wrought on the Porsche Cayenne – especially when you consider there is Turbo GT componentry involved here.
Powering the GTS twins is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 producing 368kW and 660Nm (+30kW/40Nm), driving all four wheels via a revised eight-speed automatic transmission.
Acceleration from 0-100km/h is a claimed 4.4 seconds, on the way to a 275km/h top speed.
Keeping everything in check is a GTS-specific chassis set-up comprising two-chamber air springs, Porsche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and Cayenne Turbo GT-derived front axle pivot bearings.
The Porsche Traction Management system also now has an independent water-cooling circuit derived from the Turbo GT.
The Cayenne GTS sits 10mm lower than regular variants, wears a unique body kit, flaunts some blacked-out exterior bits and red brake callipers, has dark bronze exhaust outlets and rolls on grey 21-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, you’ll find a heated GT sports steering wheel, Race-Tex upholstery, eight-way power-adjustable sport seats, the latest Porsche Driver Experience instrument cluster, a Bose surround-sound system and ambient lighting.
Australian cars will also be delivered with a 20-inch collapsible spare wheel, metallic paint, Porsche Entry, privacy glass, lane change assist, surround view with active parking support, a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, driver memory package, soft-close doors and digital radio.
The GTS Coupe adds a panoramic glass roof and power steering plus.
