Renault has confirmed that its inbound Renault Twingo E-Tech will be priced from just €20,000 ($A32,500) when sales begin in 2026.
Until now it was rumoured the French brand was readying the new 2026 Renault Twingo E-Tech to be positioned to fight off the new breed of affordable EVs from China but now Renault has confirmed its new EV's budget pricing.
Created to sit below the latest reborn 2025 Renault 5 E-Tech, it's thought Renault will now reveal an updated version of the Twingo E-Tech at the Paris motor show on October 14.
Set to remain true to the well-received 2023 Twingo concept, the next design study is expected to keep its round headlamps, snub-nosed bonnet and three fake vents that all pay homage to the first-generation Renault Twingo that was launched back in 1993.
For the fourth-generation Twingo Renault has already announced that it is collaborating with an unnamed Chinese partner in a bid to slash costs, while the overall design, development and engineering will be carried out by Renault's new Ampere EV division.
Even though it looks like the original, the new Twingo is actually a five-door hatchback with hidden door handles in the C-pillar. The concept also features a full-length panoramic roof that suggests more luxurious version will also be offered too.
Despite co-developed with a Chinese partner, production of the Renault Twingo E-Tech will take place at a factory in Europe to avoid EU tariffs.
More will be revealed on October 14 following the updated Renault Twingo's concept's reveal.
