BMW will launch its new 3 Series Convertible to the Australian public at the Brisbane International Motor Show next month. The 10-day show opens Friday, February 2 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The popular prestige open-top has a folding steel roof for the first time in its model history. It will appear in Brisbane straight after its worldwide launch at the North American International Motor Show in Detroit this month.
The 3 Series Convertible will go on sale in Europe on March 24 and is expected to reach local showrooms around the same time. Detailed Australian specifications and pricing will be announced closer to local launch.
BMW says the new convertible's retractable hardtop takes 22 seconds to fold and with the roof stowed, the boot retains 210 litres of luggage space. The convertible's body is also reportedly stiffer than before.
The new model is offered with either the 160kW 325i straight-six engine, or the new twin turbo 225kW 3.0-litre six in the 335i.
BMW will be one of more than 35 vehicle brands represented at the Brisbane International Motor Show.
