Say hello to the new 370Z. These are the first official photos of the all-new Zed car. Released today, the photos put an end to speculation on the new model's name and engine capacity (see photo enlargement).
Though there are still no details released on the mechanicals that underpin the new two-seater, what is clear is the car is more tightly drawn and generally more 'serious' than the current 350Z.
As reported previously here and here, the new car rides on what is expected to be a shortened platform but wider track. Bigger wheels, bigger brakes and revised suspension components are also expected.
The images also confirm the new car leverages the 'cybernetic' lines of Nissan's GT-R flagship supersports coupe. Witness the bonnet strakes and the size and shape of the cooling openings at the pointy end of the new Zed -- plenty of GT-R to our eye.
The shape of the Zed has also been tightened with the profile almost 911-like. Inside the all-new cabin will be the subject of much discussion, not least for the fact it uses the same centre console controller as cars like the new Maxima.
The 370Z will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show which opens in mid-November. In the meantime, we'll get any official details to you as soon as they surface.
