New Aston Martin Vantage goes sideways for the camera

British marque lets its new sports car loose, albeit briefly

Aston Martin has offered up some dynamic slo-mo in the latest episode of its protracted teaser campaign for the upcoming Vantage.

Released days before the Vantage’s official debut on November 21, the latest morsel shows the familiar yellow-wrapped, Pirelli-stamped prototype gracefully hanging its tail out on a closed circuit.

A whole nine seconds long, the vid tells us little more about the Vantage than what we already know, other than it maintains its penchant for fun, rear-drive dynamics.

Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 borrowed from Mercedes-AMG GT, the Vantage will be slightly smaller than its predecessor and will feature an aluminium-intensive architecture, bringing a lighter kerb weight. Expect a 0-100km/h time of four seconds or less.

Later on, the British car-maker is expected to shoe-horn in its even more powerful 447kW/700Nm 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that should ensure a top speed in excess of 330km/h.

Suspension, meanwhile, will match the DB11 with a front double-wishbone set-up and a sophisticated rear multi-link system introduced, replacing the old car’s all-round double-wishbone set-up.

Elsewhere, the Vantage will feature a striking full-length LED tail-light at the rear, along with styling elements from the James Bond-famous DB10 and the stunning Vulcan hypercar.

Stay tuned for the full reveal on November 21.
