Electrified Chinese brand Lynk & Co has unveiled its all-new Lynk & Co 09 ahead of the Shanghai motor show that is set to share plenty with the current Volvo XC90.
Full details of the Sino-Swedish brand's latest model have yet to be revealed, but the 2021 Lynk & Co 09 large SUV is set to be based on the same Volvo-developed SPA platform as the XC90 and use the same T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain.
If so, the 09 will get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol that's both turbocharged and supercharged combined with a 65kW electric motor and an 11.6kWh lithium-ion battery.
Combined, total output is expected to be around 300kW with the added bonus of a pure-electric range of around 40-50km.
Other powertrains are also likely to be offered, making the 09 SUV the ideal model to spearhead the brand's launch Down Under.
There's no word when the Swedish-based car-maker will arrive here, but it's already been confirmed the Geely-owned brand will one day sell vehicles in our market.
