Another teaser image released by Bugatti overnight has confirmed the mystery hypercar it will reveal on August 19 at the Monterey Car Week will be a roadster.
Two earlier posts on the French hypercar-maker’s social media channels have indicated that the model will share little externally with the Bugatti Chiron on which it’s expected to be based, boasting a new set of stacked LED headlights and a pair of dramatic V-shaped LED tail-lights.
The latest post, titled ‘Opening up new horizons’, provides little doubt that the Bugatti that will be unleashed at Pebble Beach will be roofless.
There’s still no word on what it will be called, but the earlier ‘Last of its kind’ caption suggestions the dramatic hypercar being hatched will either be the last-ever non-electrified Bugatti or the final car to be based on the Chiron’s full carbon-fibre monocoque chassis – or both.
As well as lacking a roof, the video also shows a vehicle that doesn’t seem to possess a windscreen, which could point towards a wilder-still speedster version of the Bugatti Chiron.
Perhaps more likely, the roadster may come with a folding roof similar to the previous-generation Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.
