The eighth generation Civic range took pride of place on Honda’s display at the Melbourne International Motor Show today.
Available in four variants, the new Civic is bigger and more powerful than the model it replaces. Topping the Civic lineup is the 2.0-litre 114kW Civic Sport. The entry-level Civic VTi and luxury Civic VTi-L receive a 1.8-litre 103kW engine.
Honda’s fuel-saving Civic Hybrid has returned with an upgraded 1.3-litre petrol engine mated to an Integrated Motor Assist system to produce 85kW while delivering 4.6lt/100km fuel economy.
The Civic range is offered with either a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission while the Civic Hybrid features a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) for greater fuel economy.
