Land Rover begins 10MY roll-out with Range Rover VogueThe latest Range Rover Vogue model goes on sale this week, starting at $155K for the carry over 3.6-litre diesel V8. The five-model line-up will include Land Rover's new 5.0-litre V8 which replaces the 4.2-litre version previously offered.
The new V8 is good for 276kW/510Nm but offers a slight consumption saving -- 6.9 per cent; now estimated at 14L/100km. Capable of a 7.2sec 0-100km sprint time, the naturally aspirated version is only 0.1sec slower than the outgoing supercharged model. The V8 Vogue is priced at $158K.
The Range Rover Vogue supercharged version, rated at 375kW/625Nm, starts at $229,500 and can be personally tailored to suit its 'Autobiography' tag with myriad trim choice and mix. The Autobiography specification is also available for the diesel Vogue.
Land Rover is releasing the new Discovery in Australia early next month, starting at $68,490 for the 2.7-litre diesel V6. Next up, the new 3.0-litre diesel SE is priced just under $82K and $95K for the HSE version.
Discovery 4, equipped with the new 5.0-litre V8, starts at $126,460. The Disco range-topper features rear electronic differential and updates to LR's Terrain Response system for improved offroad ability.
Apart from a more attractive exterior the new Disco packs interior revisions that make LR's offroad star a more pleasant place to be on and off road. We drove the new Disco over some challenging ground this week and can attest to its capabilities and comfort in the rough stuff.
So too the new RR Sport model. Already our favourite among the range, the latest Sport benefits from exterior and interior styling tweaks and is especially responsive with the new supercharged V8. Even the diesel version -- starting at just under $100K-- is a talented and tempting option.
The Sport also gets LR's updated Terrain Response tech and can boast reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in either diesel, normally aspirated or supercharged guise. All Sport models come with the laudable ZF six-speed and paddle-shift actuation.
