New Fisker Ronin EV with 1000km range teased

Fisker’s luxurious new four-door cabrio to feature triple-motor EV powertrain and massive driving range

The first official photograph of the incoming flagship Fisker Ronin electric “super GT” has been released by the US car-maker’s founder and CEO, Henrik Fisker, on his Instagram account.

Uploading the image ahead of the new hyper-EV’s official reveal on August 3, Fisker said the new Ronin would be “super-fast” and offer space for five occupants.

According to the CEO, the Fisker Ronin has been developed to be the “ultimate long-distance grand touring car” and would come with a range of 600 miles (966km).

We already know that the Ronin is a large four-door convertible and, if you look closely, you’ll spot the join on the retractable hard-top where the roof splits in two before neatly storing away within the boot compartment.

The teaser also shows how Fisker has designed the Ronin to feature two large doors for front occupants while a pair of shorter ‘suicide’ rear doors aid access for those sitting in the second row of seating.

Other points of interest include the Porsche-style rear LED light bar, the pronounced rear wheel-arches and the unusual nostrils in the front bonnet.

Last year, Fisker released some design renderings that show off how the frontal styling will be dominated by slim diamond-shaped LED headlights and a smooth front bumper.

Set to be driven by three electric motors, the Fisker Ronin is tipped to produce around 1000kW of power and accelerate from 0-100km/h in around two seconds.

Pricing has been rumoured to start at circa-$US200,000 ($A300,500).

There’s still no confirmation, but the Fisker Ocean family SUV and the smaller five-seat compact PEAR SUV are both said to be Australia-bound, with the two pencilled in for a 2024/25 arrival.

There’s no timeline for the Ronin’s arrival but it’s thought 2026 is a safe bet.

Fisker has announced it expects to sell one million EVs globally between now and 2027, and that come 2030 it will produce and sell a million vehicles annually.
