Nissan has unveiled its new performance flagship. Dubbed the GTR Proto, the all-new car was debuted at this week's Tokyo Show in Japan.
Two years away from production the new car is close to production ready -- what you see is largely what you'll get. Overseas reports have it testing at Nurburgring already and turning laps that would embarrass some very serious nameplates. The new car will be sold locally.
Nissan says the design of the GT-R PROTO expresses pure GT-R heritage, coming from the first model PGC10 (1969) through R34 (1999). For the first time, however, the new GT-R has been drawn from first principles rather than developed from a saloon version.
