Great Wall Motors (GWM) Australia has announced local pricing and specifications for the all-new 2021 Haval Jolion.
Replacing the slow-selling Haval H2, the Australian launch range comprises two 2021 Haval Jolion Launch Edition (LE) variants across two grades – Lux and Ultra – which are limited to just 300 units combined in the first wave.
Pricing starts at $27,990 drive-away for the 2021 Haval Jolion Lux LE, while the top-shelf 2021 Haval Jolion Ultra LE is set at $30,990 drive-away.
Both are now making their way into showrooms across Australia, and will be joined by permanent models down the track including a new entry-level variant that brings the Jolion down towards the opening price of the outgoing H2 (which is $22,990 drive-away).
The new entry-level Jolion Lux comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, daytime running lights (DRLs) and fog lights, heated front seats, roof rails, dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, 7.0-inch LCD instrument cluster and Comfort Tek seats with six-way electric adjustment for the driver.
Where other tech is concerned, a 10.25-inch central display offers Apple CarPlay, while driver assistance and safety features include autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and a driver fatigue monitor.
Opting for the Jolion Ultra LE brings larger 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, wireless phone charging and a larger 12.3-inch central touch-screen.
The Jolion small SUV has a 2700mm wheelbase and is built on the brand’s LEMON (Lightweight, Electrification, Multi-purpose, Omni-protection and Network) platform, offering the “flexibility and feature set of a larger SUV but at a small SUV price point”.
Powered by a revised version of the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that powered the H2, the Jolion delivers 110kW of power and 210Nm of torque and is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that sends power to the front wheels.
Four drive modes are available: Standard, Eco, Sport and Snow.
Produced at GWM’s new facility in Taizhou, near Shanghai, every Jolion comes with a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and five years’ roadside assist.
