New Honda Legend to debut in August

Pebble Beach to host the return of the, err, Legend

The long-lost Legend could be set to make a return, with Honda set to show its born-again luxury limousine in California in August.

Even though the large sedan market is under pressure from premium SUVs like never before, Car and Driver insists Honda will show a new big sedan at the Monterey Car Week festival.

The magazine, noted for being wired-in with the transplanted US car factories like Honda's, insists the new Legend’s styling will come straight from the Precision concept car (pictured), which has already donated its design language to the RDX.

Honda, which ignored the Legend’s market segment for nearly two decades, appears miffed that Genesis has swooped in and supplanted it with the G70.

The Legend has endured a topsy-turvy sales record in Australia. The fifth-generation Legend was never offered locally after meagre sales of the predecessor.
