Update, 22/02/2018: More images of the Hyundai Santa Fe have emerged, this time showing the rear-end design for the first time and more of the interior. The brake light design is favours conservatism while and the 2.2 D badge confirms the company will continue to offer a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine.
Inside, the second- and third-row seats don't stray too far from the tried-and-tested formula, with 60/40-split and folding second-row seats.
The new images of the front of the Santa Fe from different angles reveal further similarities with the new NEXO hydrogen SUV and Hyundai Kona compact SUV, which all have distinctive, slim-line headlight clusters.
Stay tuned for our first drive of the new Hyundai Santa Fe directly from South Korea on March 2.
: Hyundai has released high-resolution versions of the 2018 Santa Fe images leaked in Korea yesterday. The fourth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe will make its world premiere at the 2018 Geneva motor show in early March, ahead of an Australian launch in mid-2018.
The new Santa Fe measures 4770mm and 1890mm, meaning it's longer and wider than the current version by 70mm and 10mm respectively, which should liberate more interior room, as will a longer wheelbase.
Along with its occupant alert system to stop drivers leaving babies in the car, it gets Safety Exit Assist, which will do the opposite and lock passengers in the car to prevent them from exiting if the vehicle detects vehicles approaching from the rear.

The cat is out of the bag.
A Korean website has published a pair of low-resolution photos of the highly-anticipated 2018 Santa Fe ahead of its official February 7 debut.
The exterior of the all-new large SUV shares much with the new NEXO, the brand's new hydrogen-powered SUV, and also borrows a few design cues from the compact Kona SUV – especially the slim-line headlights.
Underneath the stylised headlights are large fog light clusters and the grille has a more daring design than the current Santa Fe. It rides on large alloy wheels and the body profile doesn't appear to be quite as aggressive as the official Hyundai Santa Fe sketches revealed a week prior.
The single interior image shows a more sophisticated interior décor than the current model, arguably pushing into prestige territory. Hyundai's interior designers have clearly been hanging out with the Genesis crew, the swoopy dashboard, digital instrument cluster and acres of tan leather creating an upmarket appearance.
It has similarities to the new Hyundai i30, especially the infotainment screen but the steering wheel buttons look a bit classier too.
As we reported earlier in the year, the new Santa Fe will be based on the current Kia Sorento’s platform and one of its drawcard features will be a world-first rear occupant alert system to stop forgetful drivers leaving toddlers and babies in the car.
The post on the Korean website, Daum, reckons three engines will be offered, including a new 2.0-litre turbo-diesel. An eight-speed automatic transmission will also allegedly make the grade.
Stay tuned for more.
