Polestar has inadvertently previewed more of the Polestar 2 ahead of its official unveiling.
The new images appeared on the Swedish premium brand's official mobile app that's supposed to allow perspective buyers to explore some of the features of Polestar 2's Android-based HMI infotainment system.
Most revealing is the overhead shot that shows off the Polestar 2's full-length panoramic roof, its sharply creased sculptured bonnet and the fastback rear styling that all imply the Polestar coupe will closely resemble the old Volvo 40.2 concept.
Set to come equipped with the car-maker's all-new pure-electric powertrain, the Polestar will be priced between $55,000 to $90,000 (in Europe at least), the headline news is the four-door coupe will produce up to 300kW and come with a range of about 560km.
Sharing its platform with the Volvo XC40 SUV, beneath the skin the Polestar 2 is set to be the brand's breakthrough model.
As well as being sold in Europe, the battery-powered Polestar 2 will also be offered to its customers via Volvo’s Care by Volvo subscription service.
It’s not yet been confirmed whether or not the Polestar 2 is destined for Australia, nor when it will arrive. The first Polestar 1 was ruled out over its lack of right-hand drive.
